I have always thought cutting down a Christmas tree sounded like so much fun, so Colin and I decided this year to give it a try. We picked the most gorgeous, warm for the season, Sunday afternoon and headed to a tree farm about 15 minutes from home.
After lots of indecisiveness and forgetting which tree we had previously decided on, we picked one. The perfect one!
We loved it so much, we hugged it!
Cutting this thing down was no small job, we came to learn. In fact, we struggled for so long that another family walked by us several times, decided upon a tree, cut theirs down, and walked off with it while we were still trying to saw ours down. Haha! I blame the saw.
It was another week or so before Colin and I took the time to string the lights and decorate the tree, but it wasn't long until we had transformed our simple tree into a sparkly, shining beauty! As we have for the past several years, we put our tree in the family room, which is in the basement. We spend time watching tv down there, and there is nothing quite like watching a movie to the glow of Christmas lights!
xo,
Emily
