I am officially in love with the sheep skin rugs from Ikea.
I had been drooling over these for a while after seeing them at Young House Love and basically all over blog land. So, after pining for one for a bit, I picked one up for 30 bucks. Yeah, it was a bit of a splurge, but I knew it was flexible accessory that could be used for years and in many different ways. Currently, I am using it on the ottoman in our living room to help break it up a bit and to add texture. That, in addition to its fuzzy goodness, makes it the perfect accessory!
So, you can imagine my delight when I was at Ikea today and found them for, not $30, but ONLY $10!! I nearly ran over 4 other shoppers with my disobedient cart trying to get to them. I exercised a little bit of self restraint and only put 2 additional rugs into my cart.
So, why the price difference? Come to find out, the one I bought originally was actually a real sheepskin, and these are faux. Well, fine with me. I'd personally rather have the faux ones anyway. In fact, I was slightly worried the dogs might fuss with the real one when I first brought it home (they didn't). So, what did I do with the other 2 rugs?
One is by my bed.
And, one is by Colin's.
I am almost looking forward to stepping out of bed onto it in the morning. But, not really because if I'm stepping out of bed, then I can't also be in bed and I'd rather be in bed. :)
xo,
Emily
Last weekend I stood in IKEA and debated getting one of these for about an hour. I couldn't decide if it would stand up to Riker or not, so I decided not to get one. Now I'm thinking I really DO need a faux sheepskin... Such great texture!
ReplyDeleteOh, Steph! You made the wrong decision, girl! Get yourself back to IKEA, stat! :)
ReplyDeleteMy dogs were interested in the real one when I first brought it home. They obsessively sniffed it for several days, and I actually worried for it the first time I left them home alone with it, haha, but they never caused it harm. Resting your bare feet on it is the best!
